MORE W.A.T. UNITS RELEASE OF MANPOWER (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. U), noon.) LONDON, Nov. 17. It is officially announced that the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service is being doubled lo 40,000. to release man-power. It also is announced that 20.000 men aged from 3'n to 50 years are to be recruited immediately for home defence battalions, which will be closely affiliated with the territorial county regiments. This recruitment will release able-bodied lighters, a considerable number of whom are still guarding bridges, railways and factories.
