COASTAL TRADE
The Pakura reached Gisborne early this morning from Portland via the Coast. After discharging cement she will sail for Napier, thence southern bavs and Wellington. She will load at' Wellington next week for Napier and Gisborne. The Pukeko loads at Lyttelton toil av and at Wellington to-morrow for Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne and -the Coast. The ship arrives at Gisborne next Tuesday. The Kopara left Gisborne at 6.20 p.m. yesterday for Napier, and tomorrow she works Waikokopu, Tokomaru Bay, and Hicks Bay en route to Portland. The ship loads cement at Portland on Monday and general cargo at Auckland, on Tuesday tor Coast bays. Gisborne and Napier, returning here next Thursday. The Margaret W.. which left Gisborne at 12.15 a.m., to-day, worked Tolaga Bay and Tokomaru Bay this morning and is to call at Hicks Bay to-night en route to Auckland. The vessel loads at Auckland on Monday and Tuesday for Tokomaru Bay. Tolaga Bay, and Gisborne, arriving here next Thursday. The Wainui is expected to leave Wellington ,do-day for BluiT. The vessel is to load at Blufl' on Monday, at Dunedin on Tuesday, at Oamarti and Timaru on Wednesday, and at Lyttelton.on'Thursday, thence Wellington. Gisborne and Napier. Tl\e vessel is "due at Gisborne on November 27.
The motor vessel Kapuni will pay its first call. to Gisborne on Monday in a new find regular service between Auckland.and Gisborne. The Kapuni was recently sailing between Wellington and Pa lea under the flag of the South Taranaki Shipping Company. Limited, and will be operated now by Messrs, A. G. Frankham. 'Limited. Attention is drawn in the advertising columns to the schedule ol the new service, the boat leaving Auckland on Fridays and discharging at this port on Mondays, sailing again the same ciav for Auckland.
LATVIAN SHIPPING The Latvian Government have appointed a •director of shipping, whose iask will be to secure the necessary tonnage for shipment of supplies to and from Latvia. All private fixtures, except those being carried out by ships outside Latvian sea territory, have been cancelled. All other Latvian merchant ships have been requisitioned on behalf of the Government.
