CHECK GIVEN IN SPAIN ASSISTANCE OF ITALY (Reed. Nov. iG, 9 a.m.) ROME, Nov. 15. In a preface to a book containing speeches by the Spanish leader, General Franco, the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, reaffirms the solidarity between Italy and Spain and Italy’s pride in having fought with the Spanish Nationalists against the “Bolshevist virus.”

He emphasises that Italy also fought :o enable Spain to regain strength and the balancing function she would exercise in Europe's life. He adds:

“Italy and Spain will never be separated because 'the common ideals and interests of life are deep in the hearts of the two peoples.”
