SCRAP IRON CALL

RESPONSE IN BRITAIN (Reed. Nov. 15, 9 a.m.) LONDON. Nov. 14. An appeal by the iron and steel control authorities for scrap brought, in the first three weeks, 45,000 tons which otherwise would have been wasted.

It is equivalent to seven or eight shiploads without shipping risks and loss of foreign exchange.

The campaign is expected to produce, in addition to the scrap from normal sources, 250,000 tons.
