MISHAP TO MOTORIST

COLLAPSE OVER WHEEL DROVE FROM PANIKAU An unusual experience befell a Gisborne motorist, Mr. Pax Lockett, early yesterday evening when he was returning to Gisborne from Tolaga Bay. While negotiating a greasy section of road near the Panikau turn-off at about 8 p.m. his car slipped into the bank on the side of the road and turned completely round. Mr. Lockett's head came into contact with the steering wheel, and he suffered from slight concussion as a result.

After turning his car Mr. Lockett continued his journey to Gisborne. He drove to a garage in town and was found at 9 p.m. sitting m the vehicle in a state of collapse, having fallen forward across the steering wheel. He was taken to his home by a friend, and was little the worse for his experience this morning, when inquiries were made concerning his condition.
