Tho tobacco industry is one of the most important in the world, and its importance is constantly increasing. It is computed that there are DOU different kinds of tobacco grown within the British Empire alone! Of course, the iiuality varies immensely, but it may be said without fear of 'contradiction Unit of all these tobaccos there are none that surpass in purity ami fragrance those grown and manufactured in Now /calami by the National Tobacco Co., Ltd. (pioneers of tho tobacco industry in the Dominion). Their outstanding merit is largely due to the fact that they arc toasted.(This process rids litem of the poisonous nicotine and renders them perfectly innocuous, a point, the doctors (heavy smokers as a rule) have not been slow to recognise. In fact many of them smoke National brands exclusively. Popular lines: "Kiverhead Gold,” "Desert Gold’’ (mild): '■•Cavendish’ ’and “Navy Cut. No. (medium); and "Cut Plug No. 10” (full strength). These tobaccos are on sale bv tobacconists everywhere, and also at many grocers and general stores."
