GUN CLUB SHOOT
MORERE CUP DEFENDED K. CAMERON SUCCESSFUL BIG FIXTURES IN SIGHT
(Special to tin* Herald.) TOKOMARU BAY, this day. In view of the fact that a number of those present intend to take part later in the Auckland provincial clay pigeon championship meeting in Rotorua, and that others intend entering the Southern Hemisphere championship event in Wellington in January next, the shoots now being organised by the Tokomaru Bay Gun Club have taken on additional interest. During the week-end the club conducted a shoot at Tatapouri with the Morere Cup match as the central feature. Tire trophy, which was presented last year by Mr. F. L. Joblin. and was won on the first occasion by *K. Cameron, was defended on this occasion by Cameron, whose score of 20 out of 21 was not improved upon, though it was equalled by the donor of the trophy. The Cup therefore remained in the hands of its firstyear winner. J. Harrison, 19, Rex Oates, 18, R. Craili, 18, W. Oates and s’. G. Glennie, 17, were among the best scorers in the Cup match... Owing to rain lale in the afternoon, the programme was not completed. Details of- the matches shot before the interruption were:—
Six-Bird Handicap—F. Joblin. 18 yds; Rex Oates, 17yds, W. Oates, 17 yds, G. A. Papworth, 16yds, S. G. Glennie, 16yds, K. Cameron, 16yds, and J. Harrison. 13yds, all shot possibles and divided the stakes. Morere Cup Handicap, of 21 birds, stakes divided after each seven birds, with a proportion reserved for the best total score or ties. —K. Cameron, 16yds, won outright with a score of 20; F. L. Joblin aiso scored 20, from 18yds! and divided first money with the winner. On the first seven shots. Joblin, Cameron, and R. Craili all got possibles and divided first and second money; in the second section, Joblin and S. G. Glennie each had seven breaks and divided first and second prizes, third being divided among Rex Oates, J. Leggett, and K. Cameron; in the third section Harrison, Cameron, Craili, and W, Oates ail shot seven and divided the prizemoney forithat group. Three-Track Groups Three-track Handicap, 15 birds. — In the first of three live-bird sweepstake sections, Cameron and Craili broke five and divided first and second money, Glennie, Rex Oates, and Joblin divided third money. In the second section, Glennie broke five and took first money, Joblin Cameron, W. Oates and N. B. Smith dividing second and third money with four breaks each. The third section saw Harrison successful, with five breaks, and Glennie, Rex Oates, Joblin and Cameron dividing second and third. Three-track Match, 15 birds.—ln the first section, K. Cameron took first money with five breaks, Joblin, Harrison, an Craili dividing second and third. Rex Oates, Joblin and Craili all shot five in the second section, and divided the stakes; and these three with Glennie again shot five in the third section, and shared the money. Doubles Match, 10 pairs, in two sections* of five pairs.-—In the first section, W. Oates broke eight, and took first money; R. Craili took second monev with seven breaks; and Joblin was third with six breaks. In the second section, K. Cameron broke eight and took first money; Glennie took second money with seven breaks, and W. Oates took third with six breaks. __________
