DEMANDS FOR ACTION
POSITION OF PRODUCERS MEETING IN TAURANGA (Per Press Association.) TAURANGA, this day. A meeting of farmers in the Town Hall here otv Saturday passed resolutions calling on the Government to pay a price to enable farmers to increase production and also demanding that the Government should give in assurance that the position of the farmer to-day due to the war will not be used to determine the position when the war ceases. The meeting also urged the Farmers’ Union executive to take am action considered necessary to correct the existing state of affairs of tile primary producer not later than i’ne end of February, and that the Government be asked to fulfil its election promise that the farniei would be measured by the same yardstick as others. It pledged support W the executive of the union in any ■ict.ion it saw fit to take to secure a price which would enable the farmer to increase production and so help to win the war.
