GARDEN CIRCLE
KAWAKAWA MEETING (Herald Correspondent.) The attendance was small, but, despite this fact, an interesting and most enjoyable afternoon was spent last Wednesday, when the November meeting of the Kawakawa Garden Circle was held at Mrs. P. Taylor’s residence. “Climbing Roses” was the chief topic of the meeting. A greatly appreciated book. "The Garden of Ignorance,” was presented to the circle by Miss Hop ley. Mrs. C.. Hughes proved the winner of the social competition. Garden Circle-competitions -resulted: Three cut flowers: Mrs. Branson, 1; Mrs. Cowan, 2;-Mesdames Fairlie and Hughes. 3. Three-roses: Mrs. Hughes. 1: Mrs. Fairlie, 2; Mrs. Cowan, 3. Vase of bulbs-: Mrs. Hughes, 1; Mrs. Cowan. 2. Juniors, vase of small flowers: Miss D. Cowan, 1: Miss-M. Hughes, 2. A delightful afternoon tea was served.
