No. 4B Scheme

Sir,—ln answer lo a letter signed “Worker” in Thursday night’s Herald, I can say that “Worker” is no doubt a good toiler, but that makes no difference to Mr. T. A. N. Johnson, but Mi'. Johnson will sec that he does not get a job at £2l per week as quoted because there are very few of them. It is not a question of how good you are, it is a case of go or be voluntarily unemployed, irrespective of whether you can do the job or not. There arc men who cannot do scrub cutting and know nothing about it, still they have to go or live on wind free and fresh air. I still maintain that no man should be asked to go and leave his home and family to cut scrub for any farmer. —C.R.D.
