£10,000,000 LOAN OFFER
AUSTRALIAN BANKS DEFENCE REQUIREMENTS (Reed. Nov. 10, 2.10 P.m.) CANBERRA, Nov. 10. The Australian banks have offered a loan of £10,000,000 to the Commonwealth Government at 31 per cent to finance immediate defence needs. The Commonwealth Loan Council, at a meeting yesterday, approved of the loan -which is regarded as more advisable in the present circumstances than the issue of a public loan.
