CHILLER AWARDS

NICELY FINISHED BEEF The freezing works awards in connection with the Show chilled beef class were made at Haiti to-day by Mr. ,T. Barr, who commented on the excellent quality of the placed exhibits. The first and second awards on the hooks were for exhibits which were unplaced on the showgrounds, but the third at Haiti was third in the previous judging and the fourth on the hooks was second on the hoof. The results of the judging, together with the dressed weights, are as follow:—-

The judge remarked that the first and second exhibits had very little between them, both being nicely finished with a minimum of waste, the first securing the verdict because it was a more suitable chilling weight with slightly less waste. | A good even beast secured the third i prize, but it was a little heavier than I the recognised chilling type. The i next placed exhibit was slightly I coloured, and also showed more waste j than the others, although it was the i most suitable weight.
