“NO SIMPLE ISSUE”

SUPREME COURT TRIAL CIVIL JURY DISCHARGED “There is no simple issue of fact for the consideration of the jury, tlie case being so tangled up with law and fact,” said Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court this morning when referring to a civil trial in which Humphrey Golden O’Sullivan (Mr. D. C. Purdie) claimed £IOB2 3s 7d and interest on money allegedly lent and services rendered to Michael Francis O’Sullivan (Mr. L. T. ‘.Burnard. with him Mr. D. W. lies).

Although a jury had been empanelled and had listened to portion of the opening address made by Mr. Purdie, it was decided to carry on without its services, and the 12 jurors were discharged. The following jury had been empanelled:— Stanley Edward Grant, foreman, Robert Andrew, Norman Carswell. John Francis Melvin, John Henry Robinson, Norman Clive Baynes Brook Power, John William Randle, John Samuel Ireland, Donald Lewin Wood, William Baldwin Turbitt and Daniel Phillip Mclntyre.
