HEALTH CAMP

RE-OPENING TO-DAY 20 CHILDREN ARRIVING OLD ST. HELEN’S HOME STAFF OF EIGHT Tlie Gisborne children’s health camp was re-opened in the old St. Helen’s Hospital, Childers road, today, when the first of tlie inmates began to arrive.

In all, 20 children will be accommodated, and they are due to arrive from different parts of tlie district today and to-morrow

A staff of eight will be engaged. Tlie camp will be under the control of Miss Henderson, of tlie Health Department, and witli her will be a matron, a teacher, a married couple, two maids and a charwoman.

Tlie camp will remain open for 18 to 24 weeks. Last summer the camp extended until tlie autumn, and much benefit was gained by the children from the open-air treatment which is a feature of tlie camp.

Nothing is to be done immediately regarding an official opening of the camp, but it is suggested that some such function may be arranged later when tlie camp is in full working order.
