BOXING

DECEMBER TOURNAMENT PROFESSIONAL BOUT CALTAUX V. DAVIS Both Vic Caltaux and Jack Davis have intimated to the Gisborne Boxing Association that they will be available for a professional boxing contest to be held in Gisborne on December 4 and confirmation of the terms is awaited.

An added attraction at this tournament will be the visit of a team of Auckland amateurs. The following are available. —D. Rollinson, Auckland light-heavvweight champion, and runner-up in the New Zealand championships; D. Branch Auckland middleweight champion; W. Little. Auckland welterweight champion; 11. Robertson, run-ner-up in the Auckland welterweight championship; J. McAlpine, runner-up in the Auckland feathcrw eight championship.

Tentative arrangements have been made for the following bouts; —D. Rollinson v. G. Reid; W. Little v. D. Heeney; H. Robertson v. R. Hadwen; J. McAlpine v. Tom Baty. Endeavours also are being made to secure an opponent for Branch as it is recognised that the latter would be a big attraction in Gisborne. In addition to contests in which visiting boxers will be engaged, provision will be made for four bouts between local amateurs. With the tournament in view, training operations have been resumed at the club rooms, Nesbitt road.
