PLEA REVERSED

PROBATION FOR MISCHIEF (Per Press Association.) HOKITIKA, this day. There was an unusual happening in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. At the morning sitting, an accused charged with committing mischief, pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court. In the afternoon, the accused notified that he desired to plead guilty. The magistrate, Mr. G. G. Chisholm withdrew his previous decision and sentenced the accused to probation for 12 months and ordered him to make restitution of £ls costs and also to take out a prohibition order.
