“Tlie uncertainly among purchasers of the larger farms as to what the Government might do next is having a very dampening effect on land sales at present,” said a Masterton land agent, commenting on the reluctance of tanners to invest in larger properties. “Small farms of from 40 to 100 acres are still changing hands, but the sales of 400 to 500-acre farms are very slow, and the demand for 1000-acre farms is now practically non-existent.”
