AID TO ALLIES

CASH AND CARRY ! AMERICAN SUPPLY : FAR-REACHING EFFECT | j INDUSTRIAL HINTERLAND ! GERMANS INFORMED | NAZI FURY RENEWED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 7, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. C. Tile Minister of Supply. Dr. E. L. Burgin, broadcasting to Germany in j German, stated that with American i help, Britain and France would soon be producing double the number of Germany’s aeroplanes. Dr. Burgin, after stating that he knew Germany and the Germans intimately, declared that America’s repeal of the arms embargo would far-reach-ingly affect the course of the war. Britain could easily take advantage of the cash-and-carry clause. America's resources would provide the Allies with an industrial hinterland of the greatest magnitude. America's annual steel production equalled that of the whole of Europe. She had over two-thirds of the world’s oil production. Great Resources Britain and France had great resources and their empires were still greater. Briefly, the supplies available to the Allies were endless, whereas those available to Germany must end early. A report from Berlin quotes comment in the Diplomatische Korrespondenz on the repeal of the American arms embargo. The journal says: “It is impossible to understand how a neutral can thus add fuel to the blaze of war. Nobody knows better than America that every day the war is prolonged the danger of its spreading is increased, and consequently the danger that America may also be involved.” The entire Nazi press, taking the cue from tlie Diplomatische Korrespondenz, loudly condemns the new United States neutrality law. The Nazi press utters sinister warnings and declares that the new Act fans the flames of war anew and exclusively assists the democracies.
