The Tokio correspondent of the United Press of America says that the former Japanese Foreign Ministers. Mr. Yoshizawa and Mr. Arita, suggest that Japan should pay indemnifies for the damage done to American interests in China as a means of improving the relations between Japan and America.

The Tokio newspapers in editorials stress the desire of the United States Ambassador, Mr. .1, Grew and the Japanese Foreign Minister, Admiral Nomura, to improve the relations between America and Japan and predict that the next meeting will develop Japan’s reactions lo the American proposals and subsequent meetings will be uevoted to concrete measures.

The Nichi Nichi Shimbun reports that a Japanese envoy for Chinese affairs is cn route to Shanghai to negotiate with the American consular authorities "along constructive lines ”
