England and Russia

Sir,—lf some of your correspondents were shareholders in a large concern, would they object to the action of some of the other shareholders if they voiced the opinion that they had discovered that the directors were by their policy endangering the very existence of that concern, and would they say they were antagonistic to the concern or would they endeavour to remove the directors. The

same applies to our Empire. We are shareholders in it and any unbiased student of international affairs must confess to uneasincs at the trend of events since the advent of the soeallcd National Government in England. The Dean of Canterbury, in a splendid pamphlet issued this year, gave us a good picture of what was happening and bade u.s beware. Even his remarks, published in last Monday's Herald, should give those antagonistic to Russia food for thought. • SHAREHOLDER.
