Useful Black Poplar
A good use for black poplar timber; has been found by the Waimakariri \ River Trust, and commissioners of the trust, on an inspection of property, were shown wheelbarrows made entirely of black poplar except for the legs. The engineer, Mr. H. W. Harris, said that it was considered a better wood than Southland birch, for which it was a substitute, and the price was 14s a 100 super feet against 40s for the other timber.
