WOMAN SPY GAOLED
TRIAL IN SWITZERLAND LOSS OF CIVIL RIGHTS POLICE WATCH SUSPECTS (Reed, Nov. 3, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2. The espionage trial of Madame Virginia Rota, who was accused of trying to cross the Swiss frontier with drawings of Swiss anti-aircraft guns and other sberets, resulted in her being sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and deprived of civil rights for 10 years, according to a report from Geneva. The Berne correspondent of The Times states that more than SO spies have been arrested in Switzerland. They are mostly working against the foreign Powers. <
The police possess 25,000 records of potential suspects living in Switzerland.
