CANADIAN COMMISSIONER

(Reed. Nov. 4, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA. Nov. 2

It is officially announced that Mr. Charles J. Burcell, K.C., Halifax, has been appointed High Commissioner to Australia.

Mr. Burchell was a delegate to the international affairs conference in Australia in 1938 and was chairman of the merchant shipping legislation committee at the London conference in 1929.

The appointments of High Commissions in New Zealand, South Africa and that of a Minister to Eire are expected.
