AVIATION STATION

BIGGEST IN ATLANTIC INITIAL CONTRACT (Reed. Nov. 3, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Nov. 2. An initial contract worth £1,660,000 has been awarded for an air submarine base at Grande Island in San Juan harbour, Puerto Rica. It is understood that the construction will begin immediately. The base will -be the greatest aviation station in the Atlantic and will strengthen the Panama Canal defences.
