QUEEN CARNIVAL
ACTIVITY IN WAIROA COUNTY TAKES LEAD (Special to tlii! Herald.) WAIROA, this day. Consequent upon the formation of a controlling executive there has been a quickening of interest in the county candidate's campaign in the Wairoa queen carnival. The chairman of the executive has intimated that the executive is planning a full programme for the period of the carnival, and from indications it would appear that supporters of the county queen will be given every opportunity to forget their worries during the next few weeks. Owing to the Wairoa Beach being inaccessible, and because of the difficulties of having big bonfires in the town area, the executive lias decided to hold a big Guy Fawkes party on Monday, November (i, at Mr. Powdrell’s station, Tawhara Valley. The general public arc invited to attend, and children will be particularly welcome. Supper will be provided. Plans for a mystery hike are nearly completed. Advice has been received from Mr S. A.
