AMATEUR ATHLETICS

GISBORNE CLUB GROUNDS FOR SEASON DISCUSSION INVITED The committee of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club decided last evening to call a special general meeting of the club to be held in the club rooms on Monday evening next to discuss the question ot grounds and equipment for the forthcoming season. The decision was the outcome of a lengthy discussion following a routine report by the sccrctarv that definite format advice had not yet been received in reply to the application made to the Borough Council for permission again to use the Childers Road Reserve, though, in the existing circumstances, some difficulty might be experienced in reaching a suitable arrangement.

There were present at the meeting Vlessrs. R. J. Quinn (chairman), J. .Tangney, A. Kane, W. H. James, M. Taylor, L. Barker, S. Parker, W. Campbell and J. E. Mercer (secretary). The following were elected as club members: Messrs. S Clarke. R. A. Dudfleld. L. O. Baty. and J. C. Callaghan.

Mosley, who also wrote accepting appointment as a delegate to the centre. Mr. Moslev said that, with a view to assisting the Gisborne and Wairoa clubs, the Napier club contemplated sending a team during the season to compete at Wairoa on a Friday evening and Gisborne on the
