Rugs That Wear
Part of the furnishings of the recruiting office in Christchurch is more than 80 years old. Rugs, used to cover the tables in the office, were originally part of the equipment of Imperial froops who came out to New Zealand before the Maori wars. The rugs were then intended as bed coverings, and their present condition is an unusual testimony to the British textile industry.
