MOMENTOUS TALKS
INDIAN PARTY LEADERS VICEROY'S CONFERENCE (Reed. Nov. 2, 1.40 p.m.) NEW DELHI, Nov. 1. One of the most momentous conferences in India's political history opened at the Viceroy's residence when the Marquess of Linlithgow met Mahatma Gandhi, Mr. Prasad, president of the Indian Congress Party, and Mr. Jinnah, president of the Moslem League. This is the first time the Viceroy has met the party leaders. After a round table conference, the three leaders conferred privately. A communique said that a discussion of a general' character took place, after which the meeting was adjourned.
