TEETH SWALLOWED

A midnight ambulance journey to Hamilton for specialised treatment followed the chance swallowing of a partial plate of artificial teeth by Mr. G, Josephs, Rotorua, on Sunday night. The cause of the mishap is not known, but the victim was immediately taken to the Rotorua Public Hospital where it was found that a bronchoscope would be required to remove the teeth from the gullet, where they had become lodged. As this instrument was not available in Rotorua, no time was lost in taking Mr. Josephs to the Waikato Hospital.
