EIGHTH GOLF TITLE

Len Nettlbfold won his eighth Tasmanian amateur golf title at King’s Meadows. Launceston, defeating G. A. Brown, Northern amateur champion, 1 up at the thirty-seventh after a struggle in which neither player was more than 2up at any stage. In the semi-final Ncttlefold eliminated George West, 3 and 2, covering the last seven holes in 21—eight under bogey. His card for the seven holes read: 4,4, 3,2. 2,3, 3, 3—21. In the final Ncttlefold at the thirty-second was 2 down. He fought back grimly, however, and with 3,3, 3,4 to Brown’s 4,5, 3,4, squared -the match at the thirty-sixth. Ncttlefold then sank a long putt lor a three at the thirtyseventh.
