FARMERS JOIN UNION

As a result of the dissatisfaction existing among farmers regarding the guaranteed price of dairy produce for the 1939-40 season, there has been a sharp increase in the membership of the Farmers’ Union in the Waikato. All branches report accessions to their membership, while at Whatawhata it was stated that practically 100 percent of the settlers in the district had joined the Whatawhata branch.
