MOST MAIZE SOLD
GISBORNE SUPPLIES STEADY SHIPMENT Most of the past season’s maize crop from the Gisborne district has been sold, and it is expected that very little will be left in the cribs by the end of the year, when the monthly increments on the fixed minimum price will cease. At present the market is quiet, growers with stocks still on hand waiting for the commencement of the new month and a further Id per bushel increase in the minimum price, which has been fixed at 5s 8d for November, when a steady flow of maize is expected to resume.
