STAFF FAREWELL
MR. FRENCH’S DEPARTURE
PROMOTION TO ROTORUA
Members of the Gisborne staff o' .he Agricultural Department met Mr. T. French last evening prior to his departure on promotion to take charge of the Rotorua stock district.
On behalf of the staff, Mr. F. R. Bould t> stock inspector in charge of the ofiice in Gisborne, presented Mr. French with a gentleman’s companion, and referred to the very valuable work Mr. French had done for the department during his live years in charge of the East Coast territory, adding that Mr. French would be missed in the Gisborne office.
Mr. D. Marshall, superintendent for the Wellington district of the Live Stock Division, wished Mr. French every success, and spoke of the excellent service he had given the department.
Mr. R. E. Alexander, veterinary supervisor at Gisborne, mentioned the high esteem and respect with which Mr. French was held on the Coast among both the European and Maori settlers.
Good wishes and appreciation for his co-operation were expressed also by Messrs. W. .T. Lee, S. McKenzie and W. Hart, of the Dairy Division, Mr. J. Armstrong, on behalf of the meat inspectors, Mr. J. D. Kennedy, Horticultural Division, and Mr. G. Lockwood, district clerk. Mr. French briefly replied, and said he always would remember the good spirit of comradeship which prevailed in the Gisborne office.
