BARTLETTS NEWS

BADMINTON FINALE (Herald Correspondent.) Thursday evening marked the official closing of the badminton season in Bartletts. The Poverty Bay championships were decided during the evening before enthusiastic spectators, including many visitors from Gisborne and the surrounding district.

During the evening a dainty supper was served by the Bartletts committee, supervised by Mrs. R. Francis and Mr. R. Carswell.

Among those present were: Mesdames Walters, King, Clanachan, Bell, Breingan. Muir, Fouhy, French, Griffin, Cameron, Smith, Carswell, Slbati (Gisborne), Mulligan, Francis, East (Gisborne), Briflault, Brizzell, and Rosie (Gisborne)'; Misses Haisman, Johnson (2), Z. Thomsoii, Doyle (Gisborne), French (2), Mulligan, Bourke, Ambridge (Gisborne), J. and J. Scott Puha.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Whiteford are leaving next week for Wellington, where they intend spending a short holiday and being present at the opening of the Centennial Exhibition.—Mr. A. C. Jones spent the Labour Day week-end in Wairoa.— Mh and Mrs. Mori and Don have returned to Bartletts after spending a few days in Wairoa. —Mr. F. Milligan visited Napier for the long week-end.
