COAST TEACHERS

WAIAPU BRANCH MEETS NEW PAINTING SYSTEM (Herald Correspondent.) The Waiapu branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute held its October meeting in the Whakawhitira School. The president, Mr. A. Dobson, Tikitiki, presided, and the lecturer for the day was Mr. R. W. Hamlyn, Omaio, who demonstrated new systems of finger painting and simple picture printing. Following the demonstration, the teachers present practised the new systems in order to thoroughly acquaint themselves with, the technique. At the conclusion of the meeting a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. HamlVp and Mrs. A. Eergusdn, the latter having served a delightful morning tea and luncheon. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. A. Dobson, Mr. and Mrs. H. Black, Mr. and Mrs. R. Gasson, Mr. and Mrs. T. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. E. Booh, Mr. and Mrs. A. Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs. E. Broadhurst, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hamlyn, Mr. and Mrs, H. Gardiner; Misses N. Langridge and V. Foote; Messrs. W. Oldham, C. Turner, F. Tritt, J. Parker, and W. Britton.
