WAERENGA-A-HIKA CLUB
(Herald Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Waerenga-a-hika Tennis Club was held in the Waerenga-a-hika Parish Hall this week. The Rev. R. C. Aires presided over a good attendance. The annual report and balance sheet, which showed a satisfactory financial position, were adopted.
The following officers were elected: President, the Rev. R. C. Aires; vicepresident, Mr. R. B. Jones: hon. secretary. Mr. O. Grant: hon. treasurer. Mr. J. B. Grcig: assistant secretary, Miss W. Fenton; hon. auditor, Archdeacon Hodgson; club captain, Mr. R'. Friar; committee, Messrs J. Ingram, A. Friar. J. O’Rourke, L. Ingram, • Misses P. Ingram, M. O’Rourke, E. Howcroft and Mrs. Candy,
A vote of thanks was extended to the secretary and the retiring committee for the very successful way they carried out their duties.
The opening day was fixed for Saturday, November 4. It was decided to close the tennis season early in order to do up the courts. The club proposes to hold a dance at an early date.
