TURIHAUA BULLS
ABERDEEN ANGUS SALE AVERAGE OF 32GNS PRICES REACH 60GNS The annual dispersal of two-year-old Aberdeen Angus bulls from Mr. H. B. Williams’ - Turihaua Stud was held yesterday in the -presence of a large attendance of buyers. As in the case at other dispersal sales ot the beef breeds in the district the demand was quieter, because" of the smaller number of station cattle in the district following the severe cutting down of the herds at the end of the past summer’s severe drought. Accordingly, the average price suffered, the two-year-olds averaging slightly above 32gns., compared with Signs. last year and (ifUgns. two years ago. In 193(1 the average was 47gns. The demand came from a very wide area in the Gisborne and East Coast district, and Hawke’s Bay buyers were also operating, several animals being purchased for that province, including a few for Wairoa. Five imported sires were represented in the catalogue, but the highest price of GOgns. was secured for ,i bull sired by one of Mr. Williams' own breeding, this sire being Jaqtie of Turihaua.
