Wairoa Traffic Offences
Three cases involving breaches of the traffic regulations were heard before Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., in the Wairoa Police Court yesterday. On the information of the police, Geoffrey McKenzie (Mr. G. deV. Robinson) was charged with driving a motor vehicle without having the assigned number plates affixed. Mr. Robinson told (he Bench that his client had met with an accident on the night of the offence and had been under medical treatment, for some months. The defendant was convicted and discharged. Prosecuted by the Transport Department's inspector, Mr. R. Metcalfe, Thomas Phillip and Albert William Newton were each convicted and fined £1 for having no rear-vision mirror on their motor lorries.
