A Quiet Wedding

Plunket—Wallis The marriage of Elsie Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. M. Wallis, Bushy Knoll, Hangaroa, and John, only son of Mr. Plunket and the late Mrs. Plunket, Christchurch, was quietly solemnised in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church,' Cobden street, cn Monday morning, in a setting of spring flowers, Iceland poppies, stocks and roses predominating in the artistic decorative scheme.

The ceremony was performed by :he Rev. A. J. H. Dow.

The bride looked smart in a bluishgrey tailored suit, worn with a small felt hat to match and a fur cape accented with a spray of lily-of-the-valley. After tile ceremony a small reception, to which only relatives and intimate friends were invited, was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Wellborne, “The White Cottage” Kelvin road.

The drawing-room was most artistically decorated with roses, Iceland poppies and stocks, intermingled with wonderfully-tinted copper beech foliage, and here morning tea was served and the customary toasts were honoured.

Mrs. Wallis, mother of the bride, was wearing a twilight blue tailored suit ornamented with a shoulder spray of pink roses, and a small black hat finished with an eye-veil.
