Lord Camrose, speaking in the mse of Lords, announced that he was relinquishing his official position at the Ministry of Information, which
should now function smoothly if Lord Macmillan were given a fair chance. I-Ie added that the number of responsible officials was being reduced bv 30 per cent.
This discounts the report published by the Daily . Herald yesterday that Lord Macmillan was resigning his post as Minister of Information. lie probably was con!used with Lord Camrose. Lord Macmillan, in defending the Ministry, said that the rearrangements reduced the salaries by £4(1,000 annually. Further changes might be expected including more assistance from journalists. The Ministry had achieved a doubling of the number of press attaches abroad, of which Britain had 13 before the war.
