GISBORNE SWIMMING

SURF BRANCH SUCCESS

Congratulations to the club on the healthy state of the finances, and on the spirit'of the members in helping to defray the cost of travelling representative teams were extended last evening by the president of the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club, Mr. J. S. Wauehop. at the annual ifieeting of members. He said the carnival for children during the past season was a great triumph, because it spoke well for the keenness of the children and great assistance of the teachers.

The success of the life-saving branch of the club was important,’ and the saving Offtwo lives showed the usefulness of that side of the activities of the club, continued Mr. Wauehop. The club was further congratulated toy Mr. T. C. The following new members were elected: Miss J. Morley and Messrs, R. Gillman and L. Slade. In appreciation of his serviced to the club over 20 years, it was decided unanimously to elect Mr. H. F. Forster a life member.
