FRENCH CRITICISED
CHINESE GENERAL HALTING SUPPLIES (Reed. Oct. 26, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 25. A message received from China by the New York Times, says that General Pai Chung Shi, the commander of the Chinese south of the Yangtse, interviewed foreign correspondents and sharply criticised the French action in halting, without warning, Chinese supplies transhipped from Indo-China. I-Ic asserted: that this was shortsighted, since it assisted the Japanese blockade. He pointed out that if Japan won the conflict in China she would scon assume control of IndoChina. General Pai, likewise appealed for an embargo on American arms shipments to Japan.
