The Colonial Office announces that the native admir-ii.trations in Nigeria have made .-pontaneoii.s offers of sums of money \o assist Ilis Majesty’s Government n the prosecution of the war. The Colonial Secretary, however, has replied ‘.hat while the offers were greatly anoveciafed. lie thinks the local needs of the administrations should coma first and that they should not deprive themselves of sums which may bo nee led to meet future requirements in Nigeria.
