FAREWELLS TO TRAINEES The Tolaga Bay R.S.A. held a meeting at the home of Mrs.' de Montalk, Mr. W. F. Morton, presiding. The meeting was called to arrange suitable farewells for those enlisting m .he New Zealand military forces, the R.S.A. having been notified that it is to be the governing body for this purpose.
The secretary, Mr. Fraser, was instructed to write to all organisations calling a meeting tor the end ol November to set up " committees to conduct the farewells. Mr. A. M. Miller, who was recently appointed* secretary of the Gisborne n.a.A., and who was president ot ne Tolaga Bay R.S.A. for two years, ,vas presented by the chairman with a fountain pen, suitably engraved, as a token of appreciation of his services on behalf ot the Diggers of the district. The chairman also wished him every success in his new position. Mr. Miller suitably replied. Mrs. dc Montaik, who served supper, was warmly thanked ior the use of her home
