PASTOR’S PROMOTION
MR. L. R. USMAK’S POST
MISSION SECRETARY At a service in the Church of Christ yesterday, the chairman of the board of deacons, Mr. A. W. Hall, announced the resignation of their pastor, Mr. L. R. Usmar, who had been appointed to the position of Dominion organising secretary for the home missions committee and genera! executive in Wellington. In announcing the resignation, Mr. Hall said that it had been accepted with deep regret, for Mr. Usmar had given excellent service during his several years in Gisborne. At the same time, both the board of deacons and the congregation of the Churches of Christ in Gisborne would wish him every success in his well-deserved promotion Mr. Usmar lias arranged to leave Gisborne at the end of February to take up residence in Wellington. The position will entail deputation work among the 'Churches and the conducting of missions in several centres.
