MINORITIES SHOCKED
GERMANS IN BELGIUM EVENTS IN BALTIC LONDON, Oct. 12. The ,German minorities in the Eupen and Malmedy districts (Belgium) have disillusioned by the treatment of German minorities in the Baltic States. Intense Nazi propaganda had created the belief that Herr Hitler was the guardian of Germans outside the Reich, and had preserved proNazi sentiments, but the Eupen newspaper, Gren Zecho, states that Germans in Belgium must draw a lesson from events in the Baltic. “Germans in the Baltic States who made the mistake of identifying Germanism with Nazi ideology must bitterly regret their error to-day.” it adds.
“Under Nazi influence, they have refused to seek friendly relations with the Baltic peoples, and they have now been abandoned by the instigators of this policy. “We believe that the shocking events in the Baltic States must open the eyes of the Baltic people.”
