LEVY ON JEWS

INCREASE BY NAZIS

PARIS MURDER ECHO

(Reed. Oct. 24, 10.30 a.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 23.

It is officially stated that the levy on Jewish fortunes is being increased by 5 per cent as from November 11, to 25 per cent.

The origin U levy was designed to collect £80,000,000 as a fine for the murder of the German official, Von Rath, by a Jewish youth named Grynszpan in Paris in October of 1938, but it is assumed that the increase is necessary because the total sum has not yet been realised.
