AMERICAN “PLAYBOY” PLAN FOR SHOW GIRL • (Rccd. Oct. 23, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 21. Tommy Manville, “playboy” heir to asbestos millions, impulsively chartered a 28-passenger airliner at a cost of £6OO to fly Elinor Troy, a Los Angeles show girl, alone to New York. He told the press that he was making her his fifth wife, adding: “The war news is boring me and I decided to get something else on the front pages.”
