GOOD BUSINESS DONE GISBORNE CAMP DOUBT “There has been a brisk inquiry lor health stamps, and philatelists also have been getting their quotas.” said the chief postmaster, Mr. A. ( M. Robertson, this morning in con- , nection with the health stamp campaign. (He intimated that the drive would be intensified later in the campaign. It was learned from another quarter that it was dobutful if the camp , in Gisborne would be opened this year, but a decision would not be made until next week. Increased postage rales for war purposes have necessitated a slight change in the appearance of the original stamps. The design in red, originally intended to be sold for ’ 2d., is now a 3d. stamp with the original ‘‘ld. for postage” overprinted to show that the postage value is twopence, the "Id. for health” portion being unchanged. Similar changes have been made in the green stamp, which is now sold for a total pri.be of lid. PilMiasers of health stamps are able to combine contributions to two ob-jectives--New Zealand’s war effort
■and the benefit of under-nourishei and ailing children. Referring to the Gisborne healtl camp this morning, the chairman o the Gisborne committee, Mr. II Holmes, said that at a meeting ncx Wednesday a decision would be mad whether or not the facilities wouli be available in this district. Severn questions had to be considered befor an announcement could be made, art the committee was making sure a the position before the meeting.
