The latter | appeared to favour a hind leg. After breakfast Mimicry, Whetu. Okawa, Waikawa and Lovelilt worked at Makaraka and all went well, but were not timed. At the Park Taharakau easily beat Hunting Dawn over half-a-mile in 48 3-ssec. They went off to a flying start. Paul Robeson schooled over a round of the hurdles and although he did not have much pace on he jumped I well. Seven Seas did three rounds of I steady pace work and appears to be in ! good order. | Reay Bridge pulled very hard over i a round on the plough. ; Cymetic beat No Wonder over four j furlongs in 48 4-ssec. ! Pennycomequick and Bold Step ' were on terms at the conclusion of ! five furlongs in 1.2. Both are in i really good order. | Millions just shaded Plenteous over : half-a-mile in 49sec. I Jungle King took 38sec. for three : furlongs, a good solo effort. I Kinariki, Raana and Minnow were I restricted to pace work. Kincarole and Kintyre were not extended to record 51 2-ssec. for four furlongs. Fairy Foe ran half-a-mile in 50 2-5 SOC. Mendelssohn jumped off at the seven-furlong post and picked _up Kahuroa and Whakao at the “six. Mendelssohn was going nicely at the end to record 1.30 2-5 for the distance. Kahuroa went well, but Whakao had had enough half-way down the straight. Hunting Dawn in Scurry The name of Hunting Dawn should be included in the list of acceptances [or the Endeavour Scurry, the fifth race on Thursday’s programme of the Poverty Bay Turf Club.
